Over the past six years, Monophonics have staked their claim as the San Francisco Bay Area's premier funk/soul band. Raised amid the city's rich musical culture, these young musicians proudly carry on the tradition of music native to their hometown.
Monophonics were formed in 2005; originally an instrumental ensemble comprised of guitarist Ian McDonald, bassist Myles O'Mahony, saxophonist Alex Baky, trumpeter Ryan Scott, and drummer Austin Bohlman, the band has recently added the dynamic soul vocals of keyboardist Kelly Finnigan. The result is psychedelic soul & heavy funk, which harks back to the stylings of the late 60's and early 70's, all while keeping its feet planted in the present.
As a mainstay of San Francisco venues such as the Boom Boom Room and the Independent, the Monophonics have created a national buzz and fervent local following, sharing the stage & bill with such names as Budos Band, Orgone, Soulive, Macy Gray, Dr. Lonnie Smith, The New Mastersounds, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dumpstafunk, Charles Walker & The Dynamites and many more. Their recording credits include tracks with the The New Mastersounds and Karl Denson (Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Grey Boy All-Stars) who's also featured on their latest release and second album, Into the Infrasounds. The album also includes musical guests Mic Gillete of Tower of Power & Jonathan Korty of Vinyl. Their touring schedule has brought their signature rowdy, hard-hitting live set to over 300 dates from California to Mississippi, as well as major music festivals including High Sierra, Joshua Tree and Las Tortugas. Additionally, the ensemble has established itself as yearly residents at the legendary New Orleans Jazz Festival. They have been featured in various magazines including Relix's "On the Rise" section, and in 2007, were awarded best Funk/Soul/R&B band in SF Weekly's "Best of the Bay Awards."
Already in 2011, the group has showcased their new sound with the release of a 7" entitled "Like Yesterday," for Colemine Records. The record feature's members of the Los Angeles based funk group Orgone, and will be distributed across the United States, Europe and Japan. Also in 2011, Monophonics will complete their third album to date, lacing the sounds of the late 60's/early 70's psych soul with fuzz guitars, freaky synthesizers, hard-driving drums and bass, funky horns and gritty vocals, a sonic testimony to the evolution of this six-piece unit.

Originally known by the less-than-subtle moniker Burn the Priest, Richmond, VA-based Lamb of God decided to change their name shortly after the release of a self-titled debut in 1998. Featuring vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Will Adler, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler, the newly rechristened Lamb of God was launched in the year 2000 with their acclaimed New American Gospel album. The group then embarked on a lengthy touring spree, spending much of the next two years preaching their "pure American death metal" at major heavy metal festivals and small clubs alike. Work on a follow-up effort with producer and Strapping Young Lad mastermind Devin Townsend took place in between these many road jaunts, so that Lamb of God's sophomore LP, As the Palaces Burn, was released in summer 2003. Ashes of the Wake quickly followed it in 2004. Produced by Machine, it featured the most fully realized material of the band's career. Ashes was both a chart and critical hit and set up a year's worth of successful touring for Lamb of God. Epic also reissued Burn the Priest, their 1998 debut from their original band. The Killadelphia DVD appeared in 2005, documenting a particularly fierce stretch of shows in Philly, and the same program's audio edition dropped toward the end of the same year. Sacrament was released in 2006, followed by Wrath in 2009. While recording a new studio album in 2010, a massive three-disc retrospective entitled Hourglass: The Anthology was issued by Epic, covering their independent releases as well as their major-label years and included a third disc of rarities. The set was released in two configurations: it was available for purchase in either three single-disc volumes or as a full box set.
DECAPITATED

Decapitated is a technical death metal band from Poland. They formed in 1996 in Krosno in southern Poland, when all the members were still attending music school.
They released their first demo Cemeterial Gardens in 1997 and their second demo, The Eye of Horus in 1998. After these releases, the band was considered as genuine contenders of the underground metal community, and eventually signed with Wicked World/Earache Records for the release of the debut album, Winds of Creation.
With Vitek (1984-2007) and Vogg (being aged 23) they are one of the youngest bands in the genre to have had success. Martin and Vogg conjointly hold gigs with the Polish experimental symphonic/technical black metal band Lux Occulta.
Decapitated released their first demo entitled Cemeterial Gardens in 1997 and released their debut album, called Winds of Creation, three years later. Nihility was the follow-up of Winds of Creation.
Their 2004 album, The Negation, along with their latest effort Organic Hallucinosis both have a fuller, more classical death metal tone. In summer 2005, the band's vocalist Sauron quit the band. According to Sauron, the reason was due to "health complications". Sauron's replacement was Covan, a previous member of Atrophia Red Sun. The group is currently signed to Earache Records.
Organic Hallucinosis was released on the 13th of February 2006. Martin rejoined Decapitated after the army wanted him for conscription in Poland and nearly faced going to court despite the rumours of problems concerning the label, which were proven to be untrue.
TERROR

The tireless and tour-hungry hardcore loyalists in LA's TERROR, spearheaded by the endless enthusiasm of frontman Scott Vogel, have earned quite a reputation since forming at the turn of the millennium. Their melding of no-frills breakneck hardcore and the fervor of new generation metal bridges the gap between young and old, and it makes for one hell of a pit no matter what city or stage the band leaves in ruin. Vogel has been a key figure in the scene's survival, having given up a normal home life to slug it out on the road despite broken limbs, slipped discs and everything else that comes with hosting a TERROR show.
Century Media Records has been a long-time admirer of Vogel and the band, and the label is thrilled to now officially welcome them to its increasingly diverse worldwide roster and announce the summer release of TERROR's third full-length, The Damned, The Shamed on June 10th. This vicious slab of brutality was produced by the renowned Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) and is sure to please the band's diehard fanbase, while garnering a new legion of young maniacal supporters. Vogel further comments on the newly signed deal: ""After a good run with Trustkill and several cool releases TERROR felt it was time for a fresh push and to attack from a whole new angle. As synonymous as the band has become with stellar live shows, records like Lowest of the Low, One with the Underdogs and Always the Hard Way have earned TERROR a reputation for consistency. No matter what the circumstances, Vogel has surrounded himself with talent rich in passion. A DIY attitude has often been a common bond between band members, and the current line-up is no exception. New guitarist Martin Stewart made invaluable contributions to the purist, no B.S. approach heard on Donnybrook's Lions In This Game, Doug Weber (guitar) and Nick Jett (drums) have been with the band from the start, and Jonathan Buske (bass) gave Always the Hard Way an effective lumbering beat.
If anything, TERROR's goal is to bring back the good natured release of circle pits and stage dives as well as the finger-pointing anthems that were once integral to the hardcore scene. In its infancy, the band represented everything overzealous bouncers hated, and Vogel encouraging the crowd to "elevate the maximum stagedive potential" didn't always sit well with the LA venues they packed with sweaty kids fed-up with aimless music. Nonetheless, thanks to word of mouth and the strength of songs like "Keep Your Distance" and "What Have We Done," the band soon found itself touring partners with everyone from As I Lay Dying to Hatebreed, amongst a slew of others. It is this drive and desire that has cemented TERROR into the hearts of music fans worldwide and made them royalty within the touring front. The fact that they're direct support to the reunited Earth Crisis right now speaks volumes. Time off for TERROR is considered time away from their hardcore family across the globe, something that they cannot live without, so rest assured, the years to come hold many more releases and live appearances worldwide.
Rest assured that, The Damned, The Shamed is the definitive hardcore album of 2008. Consider this your only warning.

If you want to get to know AARON LEWIS, just listen to The Road. On his first full-length album, the Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and guitarist tells one story after another. Echoing traditional country, some of those tales are hilarious and heartwarming, while others are pensive and personal. Nevertheless, they're all equally powerful, vibrant, and unforgettable. For Lewis, The Road continues to wind and surprise like it always has.
In 2011, the Staind frontman formally arrived in the country world with the release of his debut EP, Town Line. Highlighted by the success of gold-selling single "Country Boy" featuring the legendary George Jones and Charlie Daniels, the seven-song EP reached #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and #7 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release. Critical praise followed: PEOPLE’s Chuck Arnold said, "He proves to be a natural on nostalgic ballads like 'The Story Never Ends,’ (3/14/11)," while the ASSOCIATED PRESS’ Michael McCall wrote, “He injects a flavor of his own into a polished, commercial country sound in a way that could win over country fans who've never heard of Staind (2/28/11).”
Lewis also received two Academy of Country Music nominations for "Vocal Event of the Year" for "Country Boy" (for his work as artist and as co-producer) as well as two CMT nominations--one for "USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year" and another for "Collaborative Video of the Year." Simultaneously, the music video for the single stirred similar fan fervor, surpassing 12 million views on YouTube and 3 million on CMT.com. After a whirlwind year, Lewis began working on what would become The Road in the fall of 2011.
While balancing both a solo run and a tour supporting Staind's self-titled seventh studio album, he carved out intermittent pockets of time to record in Nashville with legendary Grammy-winning producer James Stroud.
"I didn't stop to think about it very much," Lewis smiles. "James lets me run with it. We respect each other and he allows me to really be who I am. I recorded this whole record by bouncing in and out of Nashville on days off. I'd come into town, work for the day, bail out, and play some more shows. Four days later, I'd do the same thing. That's how the album was made, and it's why I called it The Road."
It's a natural progression from Town Line. The album's ten songs unfold with a classic grit and an invigorating energy all directly from Lewis's heart and soul. The first single, "Endless Summer," recalls an idyllic day in the sun with his daughters. A bluesy guitar twang bends into a shimmering refrain about "another day in paradise" that's both infectious and inimitable.
Lewis laughs, "It proves I can write a happy tune. It's a story about me and the family going to our beach cottage on the weekends. It's all true. We drive down there, cook striper on the grill, and dig our own clams."
Then there's "Forever," a true product of The Road itself. It captures the longing and loneliness of life on the tour bus, while reflecting the immortality of true love. It's touching and thought-provoking all at once. "Doubt can set in on the road," he reveals. "Conversations from home aren't always warm and fuzzy. However, things change when you get back. The song goes from questioning to being reassured that everything is all good."
On the other end of the spectrum, his sense of humor shines through on the propulsive highway anthem "State Lines" and swaggering old school good-time of "Party in Hell." Lewis goes on, "Adding humor opens the avenues of exploration a little bit more, and it appeals to more of the senses. Plus, it's just fun to imagine what a party in hell might be like with Rick James."
Lewis personally penned all of the songs on The Road but one. For "Grandaddy's Gun," he teamed up with Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson, and Bobby Pinson, marking the first songwriting collaboration of his career. Annually, Lewis hosts a benefit show for his charity, It Takes a Community, which benefits his daughter's elementary school through community donations. Akins performed "Grandaddy's Gun" at the 2011 show. As soon as Lewis heard the tune, it stayed stuck in his head.
"I was completely blown away by the song," he elaborates. "When the opportunity came up, I decided to record it for The Road. They're three of Nashville's best and I have so much respect for them. It all fit with my life too. I have grandaddy's gun, and he did buy it out of a Sears and Roebuck catalog."
Once again, he collaborated with some heavy hitters in the studio. His musical partner-in-crime Ben Kitterman expanded the overall sound with acoustic guitar, dobro, piano and other instruments. Meanwhile, iconic pedal steel player Paul Franklin makes a return as well as guitarist Brett Mason and Eddie Bayers on drums. Joining the fold in Nashville were Craig Frost [Bob Seger] on keyboards and Keith Horne [Waylon Jennings] on bass.
Lewis enthuses, "It's definitely a star-studded cast. Many of the songs were cut in one take. At the most, they're two. There's definitely genuine chemistry amongst the amazing musicians on this album. I'm so lucky to have them in the studio with me."
In many ways, The Road brings things full circle for Lewis. In Staind, he has made an indelible mark on hard rock. The group has sold 13 million albums worldwide, yielding four consecutive top 3 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 as well as numerous radio hits. Their single "It's Been Awhile" also remains the most-played rock song of the decade. Still, this new chapter proves cyclical for Lewis, actually bringing him back to the first style of music he'd heard: country music.
Now, he's carrying on a tradition of storytelling and songwriting himself. "I'm really hoping the songs speak for themselves," he concludes. "I hope people hear the record and realize that this is all me. There's nothing more to say. I'm just writing songs like I have been for my whole career."
That's all he really has to do. For Aaron Lewis, The Road looks brighter than ever.

Be it one who hits the road, performing at every honky-tonk he can find to wash away the pain of a broken heart -- only to find there was perfection waiting for him right around the corner... or something even more "every day grind" inspired.

Old Crow Medicine Show got its' start busking on street corners in New York state and up through Canada, winning audiences along the way with their boundless energy and spirit. They eventually found themselves in Boone, North Carolina where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He immediately invited the band to play at his MerleFest, helping to launch their career. Shortly thereafter the band relocated to Nashville for a residency at the Grand Ole Opry, where they entertained the crowd between shows.
It's been nearly fifteen years since these humble beginnings, and the band has gone on to tour the world, sell over 800,000 albums, become frequent guests on A Prairie Home Companion, and play renowned festivals like Bonnaroo, Coachella, and the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. In November of 2011 Old Crow's classic single, "Wagon Wheel", received the RIAA's Gold certification for selling over 500,000 copies.
In 2011 Old Crow found themselves embarking on the historic Railroad Revival Tour with Mumford and Sons, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. This tour had the bands riding a vintage train from California to New Orleans, playing shows along the way. The magic of this musical excursion across America's vast landscape is captured in the Emmet Malloy directed documentary, Big Easy Express. In 2013 Old Crow Medicine Show, along with Mumford & Sons and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, won the Grammy Award for "Best Long Form Music Video" for the film.
Old Crow Medicine Show now have four studio albums to their name, three of which were released by Nettwerk Records - O.C.M.S and Big Iron World produced by David Rawlings, and Tennessee Pusher produced by Don Was. On their newest album, Carry Me Back, Old Crow continue to craft classic American roots music while pushing themselves in new directions. Carry Me Back, released by ATO Records and produced by Ted Hutt, represents a new stretch of road in the timeless journey of a rambling string band.

Jackson Taylor is a story teller, plain and simple.
Combining his real life experiences with old school country elements, and throwing in the flavors of punk and southern rock to create a style all his own, Jackson Taylor continues to break the rules of traditional country music with his straightforward lyrics, "take it or leave it" approach, intense live performances, and the drive and determination of a freight train. The end result can not be pigeon holed into any style and can only be rightfully defined as what it is: "Jackson Taylor Music".
Recently signed to the Smith Entertainment Group (Stoney LaRue and No Justice, catalogue on Cross Canadian Ragweed and Randy Rogers Band, the Live at Billy Bob's Texas line), Jackson Taylor is ready to take country music by storm with his latest release, aptly entitled Dark Days, which was produced and engineered in the mountains of Washington State at Cascade Studios. The CD (produced by Jackson Taylor and Ronnie Belaire, and engineered by Allen Larsen) contains 12 tracks and features the debut single "Lonely," a tale of emotion that Jackson knows all too well. Other tracks include "Outlaws Ain't Wanted Here No More," which is a true account of Jackson's experiences in the country music industry that eventually pushed him to take his own musical path. Also featured on the new album is a cover of the tune "Honky Tonk Heroes," written by Billy Joe Shaver, one of Jackson's favorite music outlaws.
Billy Joe Shaver summed up it up best when he said, "Jackson's songs are so real and honest, you know straight off he's been there and done that. He writes and sings like he lives, great songs that I believe will live forever."
